Vietnam Robusta buyer guide: the specification questions that change the quote

Screen size is only one line in the specification. Commercial fit depends on the whole brief.

Vietnam Robusta buyer guide: the specification questions that change the quote

The minimum technical brief

Ask for screen or grade, moisture target, defect tolerance, process, crop, packing and origin. If sensory performance matters, add sample preparation and evaluation criteria rather than relying only on physical specifications.

Match the grade to the finished product

A soluble manufacturer, an espresso roaster and a specialty-oriented Robusta brand do not buy the same value proposition. State the intended roast, blend role and target consumer price so suppliers can propose a commercially sensible option.

Compare on landed logic

FOB price is useful, but the business decision may change after freight, finance, import duty, warehousing, yield and quality losses are considered. Build a comparison sheet that turns each quote into a consistent landed-cost view.
