Robusta is carrying more of the global trade mix in 2026
Vietnam's core species is becoming even more important to global supply conversations.

A larger Robusta role
The ICO reported that in the twelve months ending July 2026, global Robusta exports reached 60.01 million bags compared with 54.67 million a year earlier, while Arabica exports were lower. The change does not mean Robusta and Arabica are interchangeable; it does mean Robusta availability has become more central to blend, soluble and value-engineering decisions.
Vietnam's relevance
Vietnam remains a natural starting point for buyers evaluating commercial Robusta. The procurement conversation should move beyond the country label and into screen, defects, moisture, process, crop, preparation and end-use. Soluble manufacturers, traditional roasters and modern specialty-oriented Robusta buyers may all require different material.
How to buy smarter
Create a target specification before requesting prices. If the application is espresso, soluble coffee or a branded retail blend, define how the green material will be transformed and what defects or sensory risks are unacceptable. A better trade inquiry creates a better supplier comparison.
