Vietnam Amazing Cup 2026 signals a broader specialty-coffee map

A larger field of entries and more producing regions point to a Vietnam coffee story that is wider than commodity Robusta alone.

The 2026 signal

VietnamPlus reported that the 2026 Vietnam Amazing Cup received 182 samples from 81 entities across seven producing regions, the largest scale in the competition's history. The regions included Đắk Lắk, Lâm Đồng, Gia Lai, Sơn La, Quảng Trị, Quảng Ngãi and Đồng Nai.

Why this matters commercially

Competitions do not automatically create scalable export supply, but they help buyers see where quality experimentation is happening. For roasters seeking differentiated Vietnam origins, they provide names, regions and quality conversations that can be followed by sampling, lot-size checks and repeatability assessment.

A different way to tell the Vietnam story

The export narrative can increasingly combine two strengths: dependable commercial Robusta and a growing specialty ecosystem. Brands should avoid forcing these into one message. Each has different buyers, price logic, volume expectations and storytelling value.
